I have been a teacher, assistant principal, principal, human resources administrator, special education administrator, and chief academic officer.  I have approached each of those positions with the same focus I did as a young special education teacher.  My focus has always been on diagnosing, prescribing, intervening, and building relationships.  This focus has always involved analyzing data, developing a plan, monitoring and adjusting the plan when the plan is not working, and genuinely getting to know and caring about the people you teach and/or lead.

My career has focused on accountability and performance.  As a teacher, high-test scores led my administrators to put me in school-based leadership positions.  As a principal, I inherited a school that was on the NCLB Target List and a year later, we were the top performing school in the district.  As a district administrator, my focus on leadership development and building leadership capacity within each school around an identified focus helped enable the district to become a top 5 district in the area of student achievement and growth.
