EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY
PERRIS UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT (CA)
Joseph Williams is the Executive Director of Technology for the Perris Union High School District. As an education innovator, he took what he learned in the classroom as he worked as an English teacher, literacy coach, academic coach, technology coach, Teacher on Special Assignment, and now as Executive Director of Technology. Five years ago, Mr. Williams led a team of PUHSD educators to develop, plan, implement, and manage the Scholar+ teaching and learning initiative that provides Chromebooks to all students, Google Apps for Education, laptops and iPads to teachers, the use of a Learning Management System, and other programmatic elements to provide modern tools for teaching and learning.
Mr. Williams was a 2008 nominee for California League of High Schools Educator of the Year, became a Google Certified Teacher in 2008, and is the 2015 Technology Administrator of the Year for the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region XIX. Mr Williams has sat on numerous education panels including speaking at the White House and on Capitol Hill on the subjects of Makerspaces and 3D printing on school campuses. Mr. Williams is proud that Making in Education is becoming a big part of the world class education PUHSD is offering.
