CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
LINCOLN PUBLIC SCHOOLS (NE)
Throughout his 25 years with the Lincoln Public Schools, Kirk Langer has held a variety of technology positions directly supporting the use of technology as a catalyst for increasing business productivity and teacher effectiveness in support of student learning. In the aftermath of a catastrophic fire 5 years ago, Kirk has been a driving force in a transformation that has moved Lincoln Public Schools from a district that integrates technology, to a district where technology is integral to the delivery of service and instruction. Endeavors over the past four years have combined, connected and aligned the efforts of stakeholders in Curriculum, Technology, Finance and Facilities. The recently adopted CLASS (Connected Learning for the Achievement of Students and Staff) Technology plan provides a systemic and sustainable framework to leverage work to date and further unify efforts moving forward. Most recently, Kirk’s efforts have reached out to the community where he is working with the City Libraries and City leadership to ensure Lincoln Public Schools’ learners have viable network connections regardless of where they live or any socioeconomic limitations.
